Dev Diary 3: Next Up
Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've given you an update due to several things dragging me away from development, but now I'm (hopefully) back to a point where I can continue. So, what's next?
First up is a couple of new cards I want to implement to strengthen some of the holdings. As it stands, Wetland is a card I suspect many people never take due to the problem of subsidence. I'm planning at least one new card - Peat Digging - to benefit from the Wetland in the deck. Much like Clearance and Dike Building, this is a card that will interact with the subsidence mechanic, generating new Subsidence as it is played. I'll have more specific numbers for you once I can test it out. Second, there will be a somewhat similar card, Charcoal Burner, that makes working with Forest more interesting. This one will generate gold based on discarded Forest (including those discarded by the Forest Fire event).
Next, of course, is more drawn elements on the game screen - we still need forest, pasture, and farmland!
